Great Torrington School is pleased to acknowledge the outcome of its recent Ofsted visit.  During the section 8 visit, on 5^th and 6^th July 2022, Ofsted concluded that GTS remains a “GOOD” school.   For all those involved, pupils, parents, and staff, it was a very positive experience and one that clearly demonstrated the many strengths of the school.

The inspection clearly validated the work of the school over the past three years.

 

“I am incredibly proud of all the work of the pupils and staff, during what has been a very turbulent time in education.  The whole school community has shown a huge amount of resilience, dedication, and determination, in ensuring the best possible learning environment and outcome for its pupils.  The Ofsted inspection allowed us time to reflect upon everything that has been achieved and to celebrate the successes of the pupils and staff.  Having had such a positive Ofsted report, followed by our best ever set of GCSE results, has clearly demonstrated the journey the school is on. I am confident that the school will continue to build on these successes as we strive to provide the best possible education for our young people.”
