Feeder School Links

On this page you will find links to information on all our feeder schools, these Primary Schools are all within a 12 mile radius of Great Torrington School.

  • Beaford Community Primary - The schools catchment area covers the 3 parishes of Beaford, Roborough and St-Giles-in-the-wood. The school is 5 miles from the market town of Great Torrington. We have fantastic grounds and accommodation with a mix of both old and new buildings. The old school house, dating back to 1870, fronts the school and the main part of the school was remodelled in the early 1990s. A purpose built Foundation Stage Unit was built in 2003.

  • Buckland Brewer Community Primary and Parkham Primary - Every child is an individual, and at Buckland Brewer Community Primary School, we strive to create a learning community where all children and adults are valued for their own skills and achievements, a place where everyone supports and respects one another so all can achieve their fullest potential.

  • Clinton Church of England Primary School - At the Clinton C of E Primary School all pupils are supported by the teachers as individuals to strive for excellence in a caring, family and community-centred rural environment. Our connected and creative curriculum offers opportunity for children to explore their own talents as well as learn new skills. Every day, our dedicated team works hard to encourage and support every child as they progress along their learning journey at this school.

  • Dolton C of E Primary - Dolton C of E Primary School is set within the picturesque village of Dolton in North Devon. Dolton is a medium sized village located between the villages of Beaford, Winkleigh and Merton and just a short drive from Hatherleigh, Torrington and Okehampton. At our school we believe that parents and carers have a vital role in the education of their children.

  • Great Torrington Bluecoat Primary - We are an Early Years specialist school with a Christian ethos which offers a safe, secure, and caring environment within which children from 0 to 11 years old can grow and learn. The school incorporates the 1970s Junior School building along with a modern Children’s Centre and eco-building purpose-built for the education of younger pupils, which opened in September 2005.

  • Horwood & Newton Tracey Community Primary - We are a small rural primary school in North Devon, situated about 3 miles from Barnstaple, and 6 miles from Great Torrington. We are in the village of Lovacott, between the two other villages of Newton Tracey and Horwood.

  • Langtree Community School - Our school is an attractive, small rural primary school with approximately 90 children attending between the ages of three and eleven. Langtree School was built in 1929, opposite the Parish Church, and next to the Parish Hall, in the centre of the village.

  • Monkleigh Primary - We are very proud of our school and have a very happy school environment. We think of our school as a family and are well known for our caring ethos. Children enjoy coming to school and are given many great opportunities to develop their learning and also develop themselves to become the best they can be.

  • Shebbear Community School - Our school continues to increase in numbers, and is set in the heart of the Devon countryside, in the small rural village of Shebbear which has its own shop, Doctor’s surgery,  Church and Chapel.  We employ a three class structure throughout the school day which means we have small class numbers, thus ensuring that every child receives the best possible education that we can provide.

  • West & East Putford School - We are a small, rural school situated in the village of West Putford. As a village school we are proud of our family atmosphere and are delighted to offer a warm welcome to your family to join us. Our aim is that Putford Primary School, by working in partnership with parents and the community, will be a happy and enriching learning environment.
