Covid-19

Welcome to the Covid-19 page. Here you'll find all the relevant information and policies that are linked to the current pandemic and the ongoing effect it has on our school.

We continue to apply the following mitigations to manage the risk of C-19:

  • Anti-Bac stations at all external entrances / exits

  • Threshold every class with hand sanitizer

  • Support mask wearing

  • Maintain one-way systems during peak movement times

LFD tests are no-longer being provided by the government; these are now available to purchase online. See link below for more information:

Order coronavirus (COVID-19) rapid lateral flow tests - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

For positive cases (under 18) we are encouraging people to follow current government guidance which is summarised below. Please also ensure you notify the school by calling the absence phone (01805 623531, option 1), and emailing CovidContact@gts.devon.sch.uk

  • If you have any of the main symptoms of C-19 AND a high temperature, then do not come to school. Follow the isolation guidelines below.

  • If you feel unwell / unable to come to school (any illness), then do not come to school. In this instance there is no need to email, just call the absence line detailed above. Your child can come back to school once they feel well enough to do so.

  • If your child tests positive, or is symptomatic (with a temperature), then they should isolate for three days (five days for over 18) following the day they tested / first day of symptoms.

  • After three full days have passed your child can return to school, providing they feel well enough to do so, irrespective of test results (providing they do not still have a high temperature)

  • If your child tests negative prior to the three days (five days for over 18) and they feel well enough to do so, they can return to school
