Dear Parents/Carers,

 

I wanted to make you aware of the latest update we have received from Devon & Cornwall Police in relation to Tuesday's incident outside the school premises.

 

They have informed us this morning that a 14-year-old boy from North Devon has been arrested on suspicion of sending by a public communication network an offensive/indecent/obscene or menacing message.

 

He has been released on police bail.

 

Because an arrest has been made, I’m afraid we are not able to expand any further on this.

 

You may see media reports that the boy who has been arrested is also facing additional charges of alleged common assault and criminal damage. However, I can confirm that these are not related to the incident outside the school grounds on Tuesday.

 

Once again, I would like to reassure all parents and pupils that all appropriate measures have been taken to keep all within our school community safe and lessons are continuing as normal.
