• GTS pupils celebrate strongest ever GCSE results

  GTS is proud to be able to reveal the success of its young people following the release of this year’s exam results.

   

  Pupils and staff shared a fantastic morning of celebration as pupils opened their results to see the outcome of their hard work. This cohort of pupils has arguably seen the greatest impact from Covid -19, but their resilience, effort and determination, coupled with the passion and commitment of GTS staff, has seen them achieve the school’s best ever results.

   

  We have seen some phenomenal individual results, both for highest grades awarded and for pupils achieving or exceeding their predicted grades. It was clear from the hugs and happy tears that pupils are well placed to access the courses they wished to moving forward.

   

  Bucking the national trend, which saw a drop from the grades awarded in 2021, the pupils at GTS have seen results improve across all areas. Equally pleasing was to see the attainment gap between boys and girls reducing, as well as between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged pupils.

   

  The pupils, staff and parents/carers at GTS have worked tirelessly and they should be justifiably proud of everything that has been achieved over the past five years but especially during the pandemic.
