• Reverse Advent for Torrington Community Food Bank

  This Christmas we would like to support Torrington Community Food Bank in the run-up to Christmas with our annual 'Reverse Advent Calendar'

   

  What is a Reverse Advent Calendar?

   

  The concept is simple; rather than the usual advent calendar where you open a window to see a picture or get a chocolate or some other goodie, you add a non-perishable food item or hygiene product to a box which we then donate to our local food bank. If you would like to take part, there is a box in reception for you to leave your donations in. Drop off times are before school, breaktimes, lunchtimes or afterschool.

   

  What kind of things can I donate?

   

  • Instant Coffee & tea bags

  • Tinned Fish

  • Tinned Fruit

  • Custard (Tinned or Powdered)

  • Fruit juice (Carton) Long-life

  • Jam / Marmalade

  • Meat and Meat pies (Tinned)

  • Milk ( Long life UHT or powdered)

  • Pasta Sauce (Tin/Jar /Sachet)

  • Rice Pudding (Tinned)

  • Cup-a-soup / Pot Noodles

  • Sugar

  • Tomatoes (Tinned)

  • Vegetables (Tinned)

  • Spaghetti (Tinned)

  • Toiletries including toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower gel, deodorant & sanitary products

   

  If you'd like to put a festive spin on your item , something Christmas related, please do so!
