Year 7

This fortnight we are finishing work on vocal music in the Christian church and concluding our performance of Missa de Angelis. You can follow and sing along below.

We will be moving on to learning some drumming patterns on the Djembe
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUWsvuvZgh4

To find out more about the context and design of the Djembe you can watch this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jeFrnd01YQ

The chances are that you don’t have a Djembe at home…why not make yourself something that is about the right size. Maybe a mixing bowl with some Clingfilm? Or a bucket with some material stretched across?

Year 8

Guitar – Chords A, D and E
Reggae lyrics analysis and song performance – “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley and the Wailers.

Year 9

Movie trailers music creation:

Students will continue to learn about sequencing software (Logic or VIP) and learn how to create drum beats of different styles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_ZHXaTwwIo

Students will understand the concept of a ‘remix’, appraise existing remixes and decide how to use parts of an existing in their movie trailer.

Year 10

Students will be performing in their bands, recording their performances on video.  All students will critique each other’s performance, commenting on things that went well and things that can be improved.

Students decide in bands on songs/bands/genres of music for future study.  Students consider individual targets on respective instruments.

If you are at home you should be practicing your instrument as much as you can. Prepare some music that you can record either on your own or with others. If you can send the video into school that is even better.

There are some people who have not yet completed their written coursework for unit MUSPRA201ta. These students need to complete this immediately and send to Mr Robilliard

Year 11

We have started our mock exam.
