To find out more about the context and design of the Djembe you can watch this video

The chances are that you don’t have a Djembe at home…why not make yourself something that is about the right size. Maybe a mixing bowl with some Clingfilm? Or a bucket with some material stretched across?

Movie trailers music creation:

Students will be learning techniques of developing their knowledge of sequencing software. Logic or VIP and learn how to create drum beats, bass lines, textures and vocal Accapellas.

Year 9 students who are off school should email their teacher to give them access to VIP software of follow the online tutorials to complete a remix.

Year 10

Students will be performing in their bands, recording their performances on video.  All students will critique each other’s performance, commenting on things that went well and things that can be improved.

Students decide in bands on songs/bands/genres of music for future study.  Students consider individual targets on respective instruments.

If you are at home you should be practicing your instrument as much as you can. Prepare some music that you can record either on your own or with others. If you can send the video into school that is even better.

There are also 2 pieces of coursework that have been started. The template documents have been shared with you on OneDrive. Just check your email. Please email your teacher for up to date information about what you need to complete.

Year 11

The controlled assessment exam will be starting as soon as mock exams are complete. If you owe coursework, please complete it. Email Mr Robilliard if you are unsure.

If you are absent you should be practicing your instrument, that is all.
