Year 7

During this fortnight we will be reviewing what the term peripheral means, reviewing different applications and how we measure computers.

Task – Complete the tasks within the presentation.

Year 8

During this fortnight we will be finishing off our review of how information is stored within a computer. As part of this we will be reviewing the key components of a computer. Then we will be investigating the two major types of memory that are used.

During this fortnight we will be reviewing digital foot prints. These are the marks that we leave online when ever we interact with the internet.

Year 10

During this fortnight we will completing our investigation of Unicode, morse code and ASCII text encoding methods. We will be completing a mock exam on paper two (Theory / knowledge paper). Additionally we will be using the 50 min lesson to return to Python programming using the self-marking course we started last year on repl.it .

Task:

  • Complete the tasks as described within the presentation.

  • Spend 50 min working on the repl.it python self-marking course.

  • Work though pages 34 – 39 in the GCSE AQA Computing Science CGP Revision Guidebook. (available on parent mail if required)

  • Then answer the questions on page 42 – 46 in the GCSE AQA Computing Science CGP Exam Practice workbook. (available on parent mail if required)
