As part of GTS’s efforts to ensure our learning environment is a place where every child can realise their potential, we joined thousands of pupils and teachers across the UK by taking part in School Diversity Week 2018 to celebrate LGBT+ equality, race and ethnicity equality, age equality, religious equality and class equality within education and the wider world.

During class and house time there were discussions and activities. They took place to explain the importance of diversity in the world we are helping our students to prepare for.  During the week a couple of our pupils championed LGBT+ equality in our community by selling rainbow ribbons within school and they raised nearly £50 for the Just Like Us charity.

School Diversity Week 2018, organised by the charily Just Like Us (, was launched with the support of the department of education and is an annual event that is promoted across the UK, in schools, with the aim of raising awareness of what these communities may face.
