In November, Great Torrington School welcomed Articulacy, a specialist company who work to develop communication and speaking skills in young people. Funded by Next Steps South West, they worked with a group of Year 9 pupils helping them achieve a Level 1 English Speaking Board qualification.

Through the week long workshop, the pupils learnt how to give a presentation, speak from memory, read a passage from a book they had chosen and listen and engage with their peers.  At the end of the week they took part in an assessment with an external assessor and all gained the ESB Level 1 Award.

Our Tutor Ms Louise Miller-Marshall commented it was a joy to watch them engage with increasing confidence as the week progressed.
