Mr Bill O'Donnell Returns!

Posted on: 09/10/2019

Mr Bill O’Donnell, a retired History Teacher from Great Torrington School and former tutor of Endeavour House, presented Endeavour’s Assembly this morning in order to raise awareness for Amyloidosis ahead of our charity fundraising day on Friday 11th October.

Amyloidosis is a rare disease that approximately 150 people in this country suffer with. Bill first became ill with pneumonia a few years ago, but his x-rays revealed further abnormalities with his heart. After further investigation and special treatment in hospitals, the NHS diagnosed him as a sufferer of the extremely rare disease. Fortunately, he now has access to a new drug to manage his particular type of amyloidosis. Unlike Bill, not all sufferers are as lucky as him and further research isrequired. Endeavour House would like to raise as much money as possible to support further research so that they can help more people like Bill.

This Friday, Endeavour House have some amazing activities organised so please remember to bring in your £1 contribution for wearing non-school uniform as well as any extra money you can afford for pancakes, cakes, sweet tuck shop and games that are taking place throughout the day.

Perhaps you are a former student of Bill, or have been touched by his story and wish to donate you can do so on his just giving page below:
