School of Rock

Pupils from years 7 – 11 have been working relentlessly for many weeks to put together an outstanding performance for you to come and watch.

‘School of Rock’ is based on the cult film and with a rocking score from Andrew Lloyd Webber. The musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decided to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a supply teacher in a prestigious school. There he turns a class of A star pupils into a guitar-shredding rockers in an attempt to win the upcoming Battle of the Bands contest.

Book your tickets now to watch this musical at Great Torrington School.

Tickets available via Parentmail or by calling GTS Box Office 01805 623531.

Recycling

Reminder to all pupils to not put food waste into the blue recyling bins please. There is a separate food waste bin which then gets turned into compost for our garden.

Please remember to use the correct recyling bins for your waste.

Careers

Apprenticeship Event – 7th May Petroc College

Invitation to any school pupils who are looking for an apprenticeship opportunity after school. The aim of the event is to connect young people with employers looking to fill current vacancies.  As such it might be more relevant for year 11 pupils and parents, however parents of other years may want to come and find out more, or ask about future opportunities.  Petroc will have around 30-40 local employers on site.
