Torrington's Got Talent

The Great Torrington School Talent Show is always an eagerly awaited event held in the beginning of the summer term. It is a fantastic event that we can celebrate the diverse range of talents of our young people. It may be singing solo, performing as group, dancing, acting, magic tricks or other skills that we have never seen before. We want you to enter and represent you and your house and have a chance of being this year’s TGT winner!


End of Year Sports Celebration – Langtree Village Hall on Thursday 6th June 2019, 6.30pm

A parent mail has been sent out to pupils that have been involved in School sport through teams, extra-curricular clubs and sports leadership. Please reply using parentmail forms and send in your payment as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.


Film Club

Bohemian Rhapsody will be our new film starting from Tuesday onwards.


National Theatre Connections Festival

The talented cast of ‘Flesh’ will be performing at The National Theatre Connections festival at The Drum Theatre, Plymouth on Wednesday 8th May 2019.  Book tickets www.theatreroyal.com

Cast will be leaving GTS at 7am, back of the school on Wednesday and will return approximately 11pm. Comfortable clothing and money for evening meal required. Lunch is provided.

After school on Wednesdays in B2 3.15-4.15pm. Attendance is mandatory.




Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio & Meningitis Consent for Year 9 Students now open

Virgin Care have now re-opened the consent link for the parents of Year 9 pupils wishing to consent for the Tetanus, Diphtheria and Polio & Meningitis ACWY which takes place on 11th June 2019.

This session is for pupils who have previously missed their Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio & Meningitis immunisation, if your child has already had their immunisation you do not need to sign up.

The link will remain active until the 1st June 2019.

All children need five doses of tetanus, diphtheria and polio vaccines to build up and maintain immunity. The fifth dose is due now.

Climate Change and The Age of Stupid

For all you budding film makers out there, here is a chance to meet Film Director, Fran Armstrong who will be a the Plough this Sunday after the screening of Age of Stupid and will be hosting a Q&A session afterwards.  The film is about climate change and the positive ways to combat it.
